On February 28, on the International HIV is Not a Crime Awareness Day, “Real World, Real People” NGO organized a roundtable discussion at the UN Office in Armenia, bringing together representatives of partner organizations, civil society, human rights defenders, and experts in the field.
During the discussion, the following were presented:
- The 2024 report on recorded cases of discrimination against people living with HIV,
- A study on cases of ART treatment interruptions among people living with HIV,
- Policy recommendations aimed at decriminalization and human rights protection.
The event aimed to promote evidence-based changes at public and political levels, highlight the negative consequences of HIV criminalization, and discuss approaches to protecting the rights of people living with HIV by fostering an environment free from discrimination and unjust criminal regulations.
