Within the framework of World AIDS Day events, the Real World, Real People NGO initiated a unique activity that offered participants the opportunity to meet a person living with HIV—listen to their story, ask questions, engage in conversation, and discover the person behind the diagnosis.

The aim of the initiative was to promote inclusion and diversity by challenging stereotypes and discrimination.

About the “Living Library” format:

The “Living Library” is an innovative method for combating prejudice and stereotypes that has gained wide recognition around the world. It is a new and engaging format for open and unrestrained dialogue, where both the “reader” and the “book” are people, and the reader becomes acquainted with their chosen “book” firsthand. During Living Library sessions, there are pre-selected “books”—human stories—and participants who act as readers. The “books” open the pages of their lives, while readers use their questions to learn more about their experiences.
