Third Sundays in May every year, this year May 19th, the Day of Remembrance for People Who Died from AIDS is observed.
This day served as an opportunity to renew efforts to end the AIDS epidemic and to honor the memory of those who have lost their lives to AIDS.
This year, the "Real World, Real People" Social NGO, in collaboration with the United Nations HIV/AIDS Program, organized a special event for this occasion.
Director Gagik Ghazareh's performance "Live Without Fear" was staged again, at the H. Malyan Theater. The event was attended by Eamonn Murphy, head of the regional office of the United Nations Program on HIV/AIDS. In his speech, Murphy emphasized the importance of such events in raising awareness about HIV and AIDS and in sharing real human stories.
The event concluded with a candlelight to honor the memory of those who have died of AIDS.
