Today, on January 31, a regular meeting of the Country Coordinating Mechanism against HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria was convened at the National Institute of Health in the Republic of Armenia. Vice-President Zhenya Mayilian chaired the meeting, with the participation of Lena Nanushyan, First Deputy Minister of Health of RA. The agenda included discussions on completed initiatives and the clarification of upcoming tasks.
During the meeting, Inessa Asmangulyan, leader of the group coordinating Ministry of Health programs, delivered a presentation on the Global Fund's activities in Armenia throughout 2023. Subsequently, Davit Melik-Nubaryan, the coordinator of the CCM "Community involvement, human rights, gender equality" working group, outlined the group's accomplishments in 2023 and presented the plan for 2024.
Roza Babayan, head of the Armenia office of the United Nations HIV/AIDS program, shared the results and recommendations of studies conducted by the CCM monitoring working group. Additionally, Hasmik Harutyunyan, head of the health system strengthening and stabilization sub-programme of the RA Ministry of Health Global Fund coordinating group, discussed the development process of a new Global Fund grant application.
Davit Melik-Nubaryan later presented the priorities outlined by civil society and communities in conjunction with the grant application. Throughout the event, participants actively engaged in discussions on various sector-related issues.
